 Arnold Schwarzenegger's
Steroid Confession!

ARNOLD Schwarzenegger launched and advanced his career as an actor in Hollywood with his champion bodybuilding physique. But, what role did steroids play in creating the physique of the man who would become the world's highest paid actor?

In a mail-order pamphlet he wrote and sold in 1977 titled Arnold: Developing a Mr. Universe Physique, Arnold discusses his steroid use as a professional bodybuilder. He states:

"I will not speak for my colleagues but I will write about my experience with tissue-building drugs. Yes, I have used them, but no, they didn't make me what I am. Anabolic steroids were helpful to me in maintaining muscle size while on a strict diet in preparation for a contest."

Arnold further states, "I did not use them for muscle growth, however, but rather muscle maintenance while cutting up."

Unfortunately, despite all the fine charity work he has performed to help young people excel in fitness and athletics, Arnold's example may send a message to our youth that an important key to success lies in an anabolic pill or injection.

Arnold's concern about maintaining muscle size while losing body fat indicates how training techniques have advanced seen 1977. Even with steroids, Arnold would spend the last week before a contest trying to replenish the lean body mass he lost from his training and dieting. Lean body mass loss is inevitable when one engages in high-intensity anaerobic activity, like weight lifting, while dieting to lose body fat.

Today we know that by alternating one's muscle-building diet and exercise routine with one's fat-loss diet and exercise routine, no one need be concerned about losing lean body mass while stripping off body fat...drug-free!

The rule is: Separate your muscle-building days, where you eat more calories and perform high-intensity activity, from your fat-loss days, where you eat fewer calories and perform low-intensity activity.

Nevertheless, many bodybuilding and fitness competitors continue to sacrifice large amounts of lean body mass as they train for their competitions, simply because they do not follow this basic training rule.

If you are concerned about improving your body composition without drugs, you will need a quick, easy and inexpensive way to measure changes in your lean body mass and body fat levels as you make the proper diet and exercise modifications...
