1. Why are there so many tables in this book?
Along with a Diet and Exercise guide, The Body Fat Guide
contains Body Composition tables which form the bulk of the book.
Think of this as a directory where you quickly look up your body
composition information (muscle, fat, % fat and more), much like you
look up a phone number in a telephone directory. To use the tables,
all you need are your weight and waist size.
2. How precise are the Body Composition tables?
The Body Composition tables use small units of measurement: half
pounds for your body weight and quarter inches for your waist size.
With such small units, you can quickly see muscle and fat changes in
your body composition (as small as 1/100th of a pound) in a day or two!
The scale alone can't show you that! This new and better way to watch
your weight keeps you motivated and prevents you from wasting time on
ineffective diet and exercise programs.
3. Do the tables cover everyone?
Such a book would be enormous, so the Body Composition tables
only cover the most common adult body weight ranges, from as
little as 100 pounds for females to over 300 pounds for males.

4. What if I fall outside the tables' body weight ranges?
Until you get within range, you can calculate your body
composition information using the Special Weight Class section of
the book.
5. Why have the book at all if I can do all the calculating myself?
Do you like unnecessary work? Looking up the information is
a lot easier, especially when you are already concentrating on
keeping track of your energy balance.
6. Does the book give advice on how to start an exercise program?
Yes, there is a special illustrated section on how to tone your body
without using any exercise equipment.

7. I get my body composition tested at the gym, so why do I need this book?
Just checking your body composition numbers every now and then
won't help you improve your body composition. Losing the wrong kind
of weight increases your body fat percentage. Gaining the right kind of
weight decreases it. You need to be able to consistently monitor and
accurately adjust your diet and activity to get the proper results. That's
exactly what The Body Fat Guide helps you do.
8. What about buying bio-electrical devices to measure body fat?
By all means, use them if you can afford them. But, the whole point of
measuring your body fat is to consistently use any reasonably
accurate
method (they all have built in error), allowing you to see precise
changes
in your body composition. So, why not choose an accurate method that
is
the least expensive, and that is the simplest to use, like The Body Fat
Guide?
9. Should I follow a special diet when following the book's program?
The Body Fat Guide will prove to you that you require nothing
more than a well-balanced diet to achieve your body weight and
body composition goals. However, if you have a favorite diet you
wish to use, The Body Fat Guide will help you monitor your
results. You may discover that your unbalanced and restricted
diet is not as effective for long-term fat loss as you thought!

10. Do I have to spend the rest of my life counting calories and measuring body fat?
You definitely DO NOT have to spend the rest of your life
preoccupied with numbers! Temporarily following the
body composition and energy balance numbers allows you to
form new lifestyle habits that make controlling your weight
automatic for life. Then, you won't be dependent on the numbers
anymore. But, without first using the numbers, most people will
have a great deal of difficulty forming these habits.
11. Won't following the numbers in this book lead to obsessive behavior?
Obsessing is defined as needless worrying. We usually fear what
we don't understand. When we don't understand how what we eat
affects our body, we worry and obsess over food and fat. You won't
eliminate this fear by ignoring your weight. The knowledge
you gain from The Body Fat Guide eliminates the guesswork and
replaces worry with confidence. It takes the guilt out of eating. You
won't feel the need to run around the block 20 times every time you put
something into your mouth!

12. Isn't belonging to a gym all I need to stay in shape?
Do you expect the library to teach you to read? Do you expect the
car dealer to teach you to drive? In order to make the best use of
your fitness training facility you need outside help. Using The
Body Fat Guide is like having a personal trainer at your fingertips!
13. What about hiring a personal trainer?
When I ran my own personal training studio, I would often recommend
fitness and health books for my clients to read, but, there was
never a book that had all the information I felt they needed to
control their weight. So I compiled all the information into one book
myself. The Body Fat Guide makes the perfect text book companion for
any personal trainer or fitness client.

14. Why aren't recipes included in the book?
Simple. Because once you learn to control your weight on a
balanced diet, you can use any of your favorite recipes! There
are plenty of recipe books out there, but there is only one book
like The Body Fat Guide.
15. Why not use a computer program or online
body-fat-calculator
to check my body composition?
Regardless of which method you use, measuring your body composition
is only one part of weight management. The Body Fat Guide offers you
a complete program to help you successfully manage your weight. And why
pay online charges to electronically calculate your body fat %? The Body
Fat Guide will show you how to use any popular spreadsheet program to
Create
an Electronic Energy Balance Chart that you can use
offline!
Your personal electronic chart displays your body fat percentage to 1/100th
of a percent, and your body fat and lean body mass levels to 1/100th of a
pound.
It also calculates your Resting Metabolic Rate, Total Energy Output, and
Net
Calorie Intake. It will even break down your calorie intake into grams of
protein,
carbohydrates and fat! And it records your progress day by day,
making it easy
to identify the proper diet and activity adjustments you should make. Use
your
electronic chart when you're at the computer, and use the book at other times.
